    Get PDF
Data integrity is the fundamental for data authentication. A major problem for XML data authentication is that signed XML data can be copied to another document but still keep signature valid. This is caused by XML data integrity protecting. Through investigation, the paper discovered that besides data content integrity, XML data integrity should also protect element location information, and context referential integrity under fine-grained security situation. The aim of this paper is to propose a model for XML data integrity considering XML data features. The paper presents an XML data integrity model named as CSR (content integrity, structure integrity, context referential integrity) based on a concatenated hash function. XML data content integrity is ensured using an iterative hash process, structure integrity is protected by hashing an absolute path string from root node, and context referential integrity is ensured by protecting context-related elements. Presented XML data integrity model can satisfy integrity requirements under situation of fine-grained security, and compatible with XML signature. Through evaluation, the integrity model presented has a higher efficiency on digest value-generation than the Merkle hash tree-based integrity model for XML data

© 2018 ACES. A new shaped pattern synthesis method is presented in which element rotations, positions and phases are co-optimized to produce a shaped beam pattern for a sparse dipole array. Compared with conventional shaped pattern synthesis using excitation amplitude and phase optimization, the proposed method can not only reduce the number of elements But also avoid the usage of unequal power dividers. A synthesis example is provided to verify the performance of the proposed method

Delay and Reliability of Load-Based Listen-Before-Talk in LAA

© 2013 IEEE. With the release of the 5 GHz unlicensed spectrum has emerged licensed-Assisted access, in which long-Term evolution (LTE) operators compete with Wi-Fi users for a share of the unlicensed spectrum so as to augment their licensed spectrum. Subsequently, there has been the need to develop a LTE channel access mechanism that enables harmonious coexistence between Wi-Fi and LTE. Load-based listen-before-Talk (LB-LBT) has been adopted as this LTE channel access mechanism by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). Theoretical modelling of LB-LBT schemes has focused on throughput and fair channel-Time sharing between Wi-Fi and LTE technologies. We explore a LB-LBT scheme that belongs to LBT category 4, as recommended by the 3GPP, and develop a model for the distribution of the medium access control (MAC) delays experienced by the Wi-Fi packets and LTE frames. The model, validated by simulations, reveals design insights that can be used to dynamically adjust the LB-LBT parameters not only to achieve channel-Time fairness, but also to guarantee MAC-delay bounds, with specified probability

A field experiment was conducted on an infertile red soil under a hairy vetch (Vicia villosa Roth) and corn (Zea mays L.) rotation system in a highland area of Yunnan Province, China. Effects of phosphate (P) fertilization, combined with hairy vetch returned to the soil, on crop yield and soil fertility were studied, and the balances of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) in the rotation system were estimated. As P application increased from 135 to 315 kg ha-1, the dry matter yield of hairy vetch increased by 900.6 to 1283.86 kg DM ha-1, and also promoted P absorption by hairy vetch. When compared with CK, the corn and corn straw yield increased by 16.64 and 33.48%, respectively, from the crop rotation system, while it increased by 18.36 and 34.96% and 32.58 and 66.5%, from the integrated use of green manure and P fertilizer, respectively. Simple crop rotation proceeding could improve soil N content in the 0 to 20 cm soil layer, while the combined P application improved soil P content. After corn harvest, soil Olsen-P content under the different treatments increased by 35.31 and 122.15% and 19.70 and 63.63% in the 0 to 10 and 10 to 20 cm soil layers, respectively. The optimum P fertilizer rate for the hairy vetch-corn rotation system in Yunnan Province was 135 kg P2O5 ha,sup>-1. At this P rate, the nutrient balance surpluses for N, P and K were 84.9, 18.9 and 26.4%, respectively. Keywords: Rotation system, crop yield, green manure, NPK balance, P fertilizer, soil physical and chemical properties

Ballistic Transport in Monolayer Black Phosphorus Transistors

© 2014 IEEE.We report a comprehensive theoretical investigation of ballistic quantum transport in monolayer black phosphorus (ML-BP) field-effect transistors (FETs). Our calculation is from tight binding atomistic model based on the nonequilibrium Green's function formalism. Several important device properties, including the drain current, ON-OFF ratio, transfer characteristic, short channel effects, intrinsic delay, and power delay product are determined against the channel length, transport direction, bias, and gate voltages. The atomistic simulation provides microscopic understanding of the device physics. Due to the anisotropic band structure of ML-BP, an orientation-dependent transport characteristic manifests itself in the major transistor properties. Comparing device performance in the zigzag and armchair direction (AD), we predict that transport along the AD has higher ON-state current and faster switching speed due to the lighter carrier effective mass. Comparing with ML MoS2 FET, ML-BP FET produces higher current density and faster switching speed, but costs more switching energy. Double gated ML-BP FETs show promising device characteristics that fulfill the international technology roadmap for semiconductors requirements in the 10-year horizon.published_or_final_versio

Novel Surface Plasmon Polariton Waveguides with Enhanced Field Confinement for Microwave-Frequency Ultra-Wideband Bandpass Filters

© 2013 IEEE. In this paper, a novel planar waveguide based on spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs) using fish-bone corrugated slot structure is first proposed in the microwave region. Low-dispersion band can be realized by such structure with tight field confinement of SSPPs, resulting in size miniaturization of the proposed waveguide. The high frequency stopband of the proposed ultra-wideband bandpass filter (BPF) is created by using this proposed waveguide, while the low frequency stopband is properly designed through introducing the microstrip-to-slotline transition. The 2-D E-fields distribution, surface current flow, and energy flow patterns are all calculated and illustrated to demonstrate the electromagnetic (EM) characteristics of the proposed ultra-wideband BPF. The BPF tuning characteristics is explored to provide a guideline for facilitating the design process. To validate the predicted performance, the proposed filter is finally designed, fabricated, and measured. Measured results illustrate high performance of the filter, in which the reflection coefficient is better than -10 dB from 2.1 to 8 GHz with the smallest insertion loss of 0.37 dB at 4.9 GHz, showing good agreement with numerical simulations. The proposed surface plasmon polariton waveguides are believed to be significantly promising for further developing plasmonic functional devices and integrated 2-D circuits with enhanced confinement of SSPPs in microwave and even terahertz bands

Reducing the number of elements in the synthesis of a broadband linear array with multiple simultaneous frequency-invariant beam patterns

© 2018 IEEE. The problem of reducing the number of elements in a broadband linear array with multiple simultaneous crossover frequency-invariant (FI) patterns is considered. Different from the single FI pattern array case, every element channel in the multiple FI pattern array is divided and followed by multiple finite-impulse-response (FIR) filters, and each of the multiple FIR filters has a set of coefficients. In this situation, a collective filter coefficient vector and its energy bound are introduced for each element, and then the problem of reducing the number of elements is transformed as minimizing the number of active collective filter coefficient vectors. In addition, the radiation characteristics including beam pointing direction, mainlobe FI property, sidelobe level, and space-frequency notching requirement for each of the multiple patterns can be formulated as multiple convex constraints. The whole synthesis method is implemented by performing an iterative second-order cone programming (SOCP). This method can be considered as a significant extension of the original SOCP for synthesizing broadband sparse array with single FI pattern. Numerical synthesis results show that the proposed method by synthesizing multiple discretized crossover FI patterns can save more elements than the original iterative SOCP by using a single continuously scannable FI pattern for covering the same space range. Moreover, even for multiple FI-patterns case with complicated space-frequency notching, the proposed method is still effective in the reduction of the number of elements
